A 2.8 inch notebook screen?

The IMOVIO’s iKIT is a “pocket notebook” which features a huge 2.8 inch screen! “While it won’t run Word, it does pack quite a punch for its diminutive size.” is what this article said. But, is this realistic?

When I picture this in my head, I’m thinking a notebook the size of a Game Boy DS or something similer. I think they need to stop pushing technology to get smaller! I mean if you think about it how many of us need glasses at an early age as it is? They keep making things smaller, TV’s, cell phones, games, now even pocket sized computers? How long do they expect people to have good eye site at that rate?

You know they are not marketing to a large majority of people who have trouble seeing. How many people do you think may enjoy playing the Game Boy DS, but cannot see the tiny screen very well, or can’t work a cell phone due to poor eye site? The last thing people need is a computer with a screen the size of a match box…

The very first T.V commercial cost $9!

WNBT-TV (now WNBC-TV) had the first T.V. commercial license, and it aired on July 1st, 1941. The ad ran for 10 seconds saying “America runs on Bulova time.” and reached 4,000 television sets for a total cost of $9. Back in 1941 $9 would be about the equivalent of $134 in todays economy.

Now days advertisements cost much more than that, even at $134 because people watch TV without thinking now days. Back then the ad may have only reached 4,000 viewers, but an ad now could reach viewers in the millions. Just goes to show how things have grown in the past 60-70 years.

Evidence of another solar system!

“WASHINGTON — For the first time, astronomers think that they’ve found evidence of an alien solar system around a star close enough to Earth to be visible to the naked eye.”

Full Article Here

They say a star that is 65 trillion miles away (10.5 light years) may have several planets orbiting around it. It shows the signs of being a solar system similar to our own solar system. The star is a bit smaller, and cooler than the star we orbit in our own solar system we call the Sun, but is much younger. Our own star is estimated to be 500 billion years old, while the star which may have planets orbiting it as well is estimated to be 850 million years old.

I find it interesting, I knew the universe was to big for our solar system to be the only one with planets. This gives more to think about for sure, specially if your into space and things. As I started reading the article, I couldn’t help but think, if it really is planets orbiting a star like the Sun in our solar system, could one of them be habitable like Earth?

It’s to bad we may never have a way to travel 10.5 light years, and even if with time we could, we haven’t even been able to reach planets in our own solar system yet, so we are still a long way from that. This is quite interesting, or at least I think so, what do you think?
